Oatmeal, Puppies, and Bread. Oh My!

Transitioning from school to home life is extremely difficult. They are two whole different worlds and I am a separate person in each of those worlds. At school I enjoy having all of my friends, clubs, University sponsored activities to keep me busy. At home I love being with my dog, my family, and unlimited access to the kitchen. Every time that I move back home I feel lost, like a puppy in a new home. I don't remember how to turn on the faucets, the television, the DVD player. I feel especially strange downgrading from a place where I am surrounded by 75 people on my floor to a measly five people at home. I know that everything will adjust in time and will be really fun along the way, it is just hard right now. Luckily, I have blogging, sunshine, and no school therapy!

I came home last week only to find a surprise waiting for me.

Say hello to Regine!

Half Bichon-Frise, half Dachshund and wholly ours. She is adorable, playful, and smart. Miss Regine loves looking at herself in the mirror, hiding under the dishwasher door when it is open, being cuddled, and terrorizing our 8 year old Dachshund Snickers.

She may have out grown her puppy antics, but Snickers is my sweetie pie.

On top of finding a job, baking, running, and applying for scholarships I now take care of two doggies. It is driving me bananas. But in the good way :)

Exciting news! I used my bread machine today! Hoohaa! I made simple white bread, which didn't rise correctly. I read some information about bread making and found out that humidity and warm weather have big impacts on yeast. Who knew? Despite the garish appearance of the bread, it was gobbled down tonight as a side dish for dinner.

I also made overnight oats last night, which I can now proudly check off my to do list for the summer. Long live the summer foodie! I have started doing research on what healthy food items are cheap and work well in freezers and such. So far, oatmeal is a definite yes! There are so many wonderful things that you make with oatmeal!

AMAZINGNESS

Hot or cold, today is the day to eat oats!
 * Just a note, the oatmeal images are from the food blogs, not me. I don't think I could possibly eat that much oatmeal in just a few days. But if you dared me to...

Oatmeal, yay or nay?
